We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.
— Jonathan Gottschall

Since a young age, whether it was reading, writing, pretending, or drawing, there where stories in my life. They inspire, help me create, and inform.

Art allows me to tell the stories that are often floating, abstracted or quickly jotted down into something more. An idea. A culture. A legend. They create a story that is specific to me. They allow me to see the bigger world and to share that.

My love of nature has been a constant, from weeding our VERY large garden growing up in North Dakota, traveling the Nigerian landscape as a tween, and now to raising my family around Minnesota's beautiful lakes and forests. The grand foliage of the jungle to the subtle beautiful of the prairie, are the backdrops that influence my art to this day and I couldn't be more grateful for it.

Having worked as both a Children's Book Designer and Storyboard Artist, I am prepared to take on the telling of stories, both mine and others.  Sometimes it can be as simple as a floral pattern that whispers of a summer day. Other times, its the complex page showing multiple storylines. These  are all stories  worthy of being told.

When not mulling over these grandiose ideas, you can often find me out paddle boarding, painting or hiking with my family. Or just eating a really fantastic meal.
